There's no "bad blood" between Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn, nor is she trying to push her boyfriend into going "public with their relationship," despite a tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this untrue claim. We're told it's "wrong."

According to Star, Swift and Alwyn are having "problems," and their friends "aren't sure they can solve them" because the singer allegedly wants to put their romance on display, while the actor is dead set against it. A so-called "source" tells the tabloid, "Joe tried to play it off as though he just loves having Taylor all to himself, but he's really worried about what would happen to his career if he came out of hiding." "Being linked to Taylor has gotten him some good press, but he wants to be taken seriously as an actor," adds the alleged insider.

The same seemingly made-up "source" then warns, "If things so south, [Alwyn] could become the biggest laughingstock in Hollywood." "Just ask Tom Hiddleston. And Calvin Harris. And Harry Styles," editorializes the clueless tabloid. Of course, Hiddleston is set to appear in two of the most anticipated films, Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Infinity War; Styles released his first solo album and made his film debut in Dunkirk; and Harris was once again the highest-paid DJ, earning $66 million a year.

The only laughingstock here is Star, which has published a number of falsehoods about Swift. The tabloid's reporting about the singer's love life hasn't exactly been stellar. Remember, it's the same magazine Gossip Cop busted when it inaccurately claimed Swift was dating Drake. The outlet also repeatedly and wrongly maintained that Swift and Hiddleston were in a fake romance.

Irrespective of the publication's past mistakes, Gossip Cop still checked in with a Swift insider, who assures us she and Alwyn are not having "problems." Our impeccable source says the tabloid is "wrong" about the singer trying to push Alwyn into going "public with their relationship." If anything, notes our tipster, they're both on the "same page" about keeping their personal lives private.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
