Taylor Swift is taking issue with Kim Kardashian releasing video of Kanye West’s phone call in which they discussed the lyrics in “Famous,” noting she never knew she would be “called ‘that bitch’ in front of the entire world” and the rapper never played the entire song for her approval as “promised.” Swift is also annoyed she’s now being labeled a “liar,” which she calls “character assassination.”

As Gossip Cop reported, Swift is not disputing that she and West had a phone call. In fact, she can clearly be heard telling West she felt his line about them having “sex” could be construed as a “compliment” and would be taken by the public as “tongue-in-cheek.” She is, however, clarifying that she never approved of the song, as West and Kardashian allege, and she most certainly was hurt by being called a “bitch.”

In a post on Instagram titled, “That moment when Kanye West secretly records your phone call, then Kim posts it on the Internet,” Swift questions, “Where in the video of Kanye telling me he was going to call me ‘that bitch’ in his song? It doesn’t exist because it never happened.” She adds, “You don’t get to control someone’s emotional response to being called ‘that bitch’ in front of the entire world.”

Swift notes, “I wanted to like the song. I wanted to believe Kanye when he told me that I would love the song. I wanted us to have a friendly relationship.” But, says the singer, “[West] promised to play the song for me, but he never did. While I wanted to be supportive of Kanye on the phone call, you cannot ‘approve’ a song you haven’t heard.”

Mostly, though, Swift is upset about how she’s now being portrayed. She concludes her Instagram post, “Being falsely printed as a liar when I was never given the full story or played any part of the song is character assassination.” She further begs to be “excluded from this narrative [with West], one that I have never asked to be a part of, since 2009.”

Shortly long after the airing of Sunday’s episode of “Keeping Up With The Kardashians,” which centered around Swift and West’s dispute over “Famous,” the reality star posted the video below of the two singers discussing the rapper’s song. Gossip Cop strongly suggests you watch it, and then share your thoughts about whether or not you agree with Swift.
