Has Taylor Schilling been “blackballed” from press appearances? That’s the crazy claim coming from the tabloids. Gossip Cop can separate fact from fiction.

“Taylor Blackballed After ‘Ellen,'” Star announces in its current issue. The tabloid claims, “‘Orange Is The New Black’ producers are ready to lock up” the actress “for public embarrassment” after a supposedly disastrous appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” Asserting Schilling wore an “unflattering outfit” and “took off her shoes” during the interview, the gossip magazine also claims she “rambled nonsensically” in her “first and likely last” appearance on the talk show.

A so-called “insider” alleges to the outlet, “There’s a reason why Taylor isn’t the face of the show. She’s never done any media training and just doesn’t know how to present herself.” This purported “spy” goes on to contend, “Everyone is fed up.” The publication even maintains co-stars Laura Prepon and Uzo Aduba “are sick of Taylor’s ‘shy girl’ routine.”

All this, however, is a bit sensationalized. Schilling was admittedly “nervous” to appear on “The Ellen Show” for the first time, and that anxiety manifested itself in some slightly awkward exchanges with DeGeneres. She even explained that she was struggling with her shoes due to a sprained ankle. And because it was actually funny, the program even titled the footage online, “Taylor Schilling’s Amusing Ellen Debut.”

That’s really all it was. But Star wants readers to believe something so catastrophic happened that Schilling has been “blackballed” from future press appearances. In reality, though, the interview barely even registered as a blip. No media outlet but Star turned this into a big to-do. No other publication wrote about it as such an atrocious, bad and damaging interview. In fact, doing a cursory Google search for “Taylor Schilling Ellen DeGeneres Show” turns up approximately zero articles reacting to the appearance in the way the tabloid has here.

It’s also suspicious that the magazine is running these allegations a FULL MONTH after the actress’ interview aired. It stands to reason Star belatedly saw the clip and decided to use it as the basis for a fake news story about “OITNB” producers and cast members being upset. But upon investigation, Gossip Cop found no evidence to support those claims. If so inclined, the non-scandalous interview can be watched below.
