Blake Shelton

Blake Shelton was born on June 18, 1976. He was raised in Oklahoma, and began writing songs and playing the guitar in his teens. In 1990, his older brother was killed in a car crash, a tragedy that would later inspire his award-winning song, “Over You.”

Shelton moved to Nashville following high school to pursue a full-fledged music career. He signed his first record deal in 2001, and his self-titled first studio album was released that same year. The lead single was “Austin,” which reached number one on what is known today as the Hot Country Songs chart.

Shelton’s second album, The Dreamer, followed in 2003, and his third, Blake Shelton’s Barn & Grill, came out in 2004. After that streak, his fourth record, Pure BS, didn’t drop until early 2007. Later that year, he served as a judge on the competition show “Nashville Star.”

In 2008, Shelton released his fifth album, Startin’ Fires, and he opted to release an EP in 2010. That was also the year he was invited to join the Grand Ole Opry. In 2011, country singer became a coach on “The Voice,” and his sixth album, Red River Blue came out, featuring the hit “Honey Bee.” By 2012, now a major singing superstar, he performed at the Super Bowl and released his first Christmas album, which counted as his seventh full-length studio record.

His eighth album, Based On A True Story… was released in 2013, and number nine, Bringing Back The Sunshine, dropped a year later in 2014. It wasn’t until 2016 that Shelton offered another record, If I’m Honest, and then Texoma Shore followed in 2017 for a total of 11 albums to date, not including his greatest hits collections.

Shelton remains the winningest coach in “The Voice” history, and in 2017 he was named the “Sexiest Man Alive” by People, as first reported by Gossip Cop. As for his personal life, the Grammy nominee is twice-divorced, having been previously wed to Kaynette Williams and Miranda Lambert. Since late 2015, he’s been in a relationship with Gwen Stefani.

Shelton’s love life has made him a tabloid target, and Gossip Cop has repeatedly corrected false reports about the singer. In 2017, he settled a lawsuit with In Touch after the gossip magazine untruthfully claimed he was in rehab for alcoholism.
