Voice Winner Season 11

“The Voice” crowned its winner for season 11 on Tuesday’s finale. Check out the results video below!

As Gossip Cop reported, the Top 4 — Billy Gilman, Sundance Head, We McDonald, and Josh Gallagher — all competed one last time on Monday’s two-hour live show. All the finalists were tasked with performing three songs: a cover, a duet with his or her coach, and a would-be winner’s single.

When voting closed at noon today, Head’s original song, “Darlin’ Don’t Go,” and his rendition of “At Last” occupied the first two slots on the iTunes single chart. That seemed to be a possible indication that he could eventually be named the victor. But it was impossible to count out season-long frontrunner Gilman, fan favorite McDonald, and dark horse Gallagher without knowing the tallies from the other voting methods. Coach Adam Levine also had a fifty percent chance of being victorious since two of the artists (Gilman and Gallagher) were on his team.

Naturally, host Carson Daly made sure to build up the suspense during the season’s star-studded last episode, which featured Ariana Grande, Sting, Bruno Mars, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, KIIS, Cam and The Weeknd. But, let’s be real: The final results announcement is what viewers really wanted to see.

So, with minutes left in the live broadcast, Daly got down to business. It was revealed Gallagher had finished in fourth place, while McDonald placed third. That left it between Gilman and Head. And HEAD WON!

The former “American Idol” contestant now follows in the footsteps of Alisan Porter (season 10), Jordan Smith (season 9), and Sawyer Fredericks (season 8). This continues Blake Shelton’s streak as the winningest coach with five champions. He was previously victorious with Craig Wayne Boyd (season 7), Danielle Bradbery (season 4), Cassadee Pope (season 3), and Jermain Paul (season 2).

For Adam Levine, this is now his second time with an artist placing second, as well as his third time with an artist placing fourth. As a first-time coach, this is obviously Alicia Keys’ first time finishing in third. She’ll get to compete against Levine and Shelton again during season 12 next year.
