Stephen Colbert joked on Russian TV that he’s “considering a run for president in 2020.” Watch the video below.

As Gossip Cop reported, Colbert is in Russia to tape special segments for “The Late Show.” On Friday, he appeared on one of the country’s own late-night programs, called “Evening Urgant.” During the appearance, he and host Ivan Urgant played Russian Roulette. Thankfully, they used shots of vodka instead of shots of bullets.

And in between one drink, Colbert said, “Can I announce something? I’m here in Russia. This is not shown in the United States? Okay. I am here to announce that I am considering a run for president in 2020, and I thought it would be better to cut out the middle man and just tell the Russians myself.”

“If anyone would like to work on my campaign in an unofficial capacity, please just let me know,” he amusingly added. Colbert also touched on the subject of Russian election meddling earlier in the game, saying in a toast, “To the beautiful and friendly Russian people. I don’t understand why no members of the Trump administration can remember meeting you.”

The studio audience laughed in response, and did so again as Urgant said in Russian, “I would like to raise a glass for the beautiful country, United States of America, which invented the Internet, thanks to which we can influence the outcome of the U.S. presidential elections.” He later called Colbert the “future U.S. president,” and added, “We will do everything we can so you become president.”

Unfortunately for Colbert fans, the TV personality is probably not serious about making a bid. He actually looked into the possibility, as his “The Colbert Report” alter ego, in 2007 for the 2008 election. He even announced his candidacy, but he was rejected from the South Carolina Democratic primary ballot and did not want to pay the fee for the Republican primary.
