Steph Curry surprised a disabled veteran on Wednesday’s “The View,” as the former service member saw his new handicapped-accessible home for the first time. Check out the video!

Timothy Birckhead was first invited to share his story on “The View” last fall. While serving as a naval officer, he learned he suffered from hereditary neuropathy with liability to pressure palsies, which debilitated his sensory and motor nerves. At just 34 years old, he went from driving a car to being in a wheelchair in the course of a year. He moved in with his brother, but was unable to navigate his way around the home without significant assistance and care.

Last March, however, he found out Homes For Our Troops would build him a new accessible home. That November, in honor of Veteran’s Day, Birckhead appeared on the ABC talk show, where he found out Home Depot would also be contributing to the construction, and every room in his new house would be furnished. Sara Haines also traveled to his New Jersey town this past January for a kick-off party with his new neighbors. As the work got underway, the former Navy member told the lead interior designer about his love of the Golden State Warriors. But he had no idea how that would be integrated.

Now more than a year after the process first began, “The View” showcased the big unveiling, which Haines and Whoopi Goldberg attended in person. After the reveal of the gorgeous new home, they encouraged Birckhead to go inside for a full tour. Little did he know, though, that Curry was hiding inside the house. After seeing various rooms, he was taken into a “man cave” that was sports-themed. And when Goldberg tried to show off the bathroom, out came the NBA superstar.

“Just to be able to celebrate your new home with your family is what it’s all about,” Curry told Birckhead. “Now you got a new place here to watch our games on TV. When I’m on the court now, I’ll remember Tim’s sitting in his man cave right now, watching.” Noted Goldberg, “It takes a warrior.” But that’s wasn’t all.

This “veteran’s homecoming” was capped off by another surprise: Birckhead was gifted a companion dog, whom he promptly named him “LeBron!” Check out the videos below!
