Sofia Richie does not think Kourtney Kardashian is "trying to steal back" Scott Disick, nor did she tell her to stay away from him. Gossip Cop can bust this untrue story. A tabloid is simply trying to make a dramatic love triangle take off in the wake of Kardashian's split from Younes Bendjima.

Life & Style begins by referencing a social media post by Kardashian's sister Khloe, in which she captioned a picture of Kardashian and Disick with "a girl can dream." The magazine contends that for Richie, "the thought of Scott reconciling with Kourtney is more like her worst nightmare." A so-called "source" is quoted as saying, "Sofia is furious that Scott and Kourtney are hanging out again."

"She understands that they have to remain civil for the kids but has become convinced that Kourtney is trying to steal back her man," alleges this untraceable insider. It's even alleged Richie "recently reached out to her and told her to back off." It's curiously not said how Kardashian supposedly reacted, though Disick is described as "caught in the middle."

This piece is a follow-up to a misguided story from last week's issue, in which the outlet wrongly claimed Kardashian broke up with Bendjima to get back together with Disick. That piece maintained she was calling the father of her children "a lot," and that "even his girlfriend is freaking out." So naturally, the publication is now offering Richie's purported perspective.

Significantly, though, the tabloid doesn't say just when Disick and Kardashian have been "hanging out again," aside from both attending Kylie Jenner's 21st birthday party earlier this month, which is when Khloe shared her social media post. But when E! Online wrote about Kardashian and Disick partying together, it was specifically noted that he "spent most of his time" with other people.

And even after that bash, TMZ reported that Kardashian has no interest in dating Disick again, corroborating what others had already said. So by most accounts, there is nothing for Richie to object. The tabloid's alleged "source" even acknowledges that Kardashian and Disick need to "remain civil" as they co-parent, and given that Disick has remained close to her extended family and continues to film "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," their paths our going to cross.

Gossip Cop's own Richie confidante, who declined to comment on the record, says the model understands that, and maintains it's "not true" she told Kardashian to stay away from Disick. Ironically, these unsubstantiated contentions are coming from the same magazine that earlier this year claimed Richie was "morphing" into Kardashian.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
