Sofia Richie's family "fears [the] worst" as she parties with Scott Disick in Miami, according to the same webloid that falsely claimed the couple split a week ago. Now that same site is claiming Richie's loved ones are "worried sick" as the relationship progresses. But Gossip Cop can set the record straight.
As Gossip Cop reported, RadarOnline wrongly reported last week that Disick "dumped" Richie after supposedly tiring of her. In actuality, Disick and Richie are still together, leading the outlet to flip-flop on the split claim with a new article that gave a purported "reconciliation" as an excuse for why they are now on vacation in Miami. Of course, that explanation was just as made-up as the original breakup claim. And now after that flub, the online publication wants readers to believe it has actually has genuine insight on how Richie's family feels about the continuing romance.
According to the new report, the Richie clan is "ready to have an intervention to save her from the troubled reality star," but there's concern it "may be too late." A so-called "insider" is quoted as claiming, "Sofia is already a mess. She isn't old enough to drink but that isn't stopping her when photographers are not around." This supposed source further contends, "Sofia is estranged from [sister] Nicole already over this and she is in danger of losing her father's inheritance and money if she does not clean up her act and get help before it's too late."
If any of that sounds familiar, it's because the blog is regurgitating untrue allegations from its sister outlets. In October, Gossip Cop busted the National Enquirer when it falsely claimed Lionel Richie was asking Nicole to intervene in the relationship, and then in November we called out OK! for wrongly asserted Lionel was threatening to cut off Sofia financially if she didn't end the romance. Sources close to Lionel exclusively told Gossip Cop on background that all of the contentions were untrue.
What's more is that Richie herself told E! her father is "very supportive" of her dating life, even though he has mixed feelings about Disick. But to date, the teen has shown herself to be responsible and her family trusts her. They obviously don't want to see her get into any kind of trouble, but Gossip Cop is told RadarOnline is greatly sensationalizing things to make it seem like Richie's family is panicked that she's currently in some dire circumstances due to Disick. That's not the case, and, as noted above, the webloid's reporting on this couple is far from reliable.
Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
