Truth rating: 10

Sia performed “Alive” on this week’s “SNL.” See the video below of Sia’s performance of “Alive” on “Saturday Night Live.”

“Alive” is the first single off Sia’s seventh and latest album, This Is Acting. To date, “Alive,” which was released six weeks ago, has reached number 56 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart and number 38 on Billboard’s Top 40 chart.

The video for “Alive” features 9-year-old Japanese star Mahiro Takano in a Sia-type black-and-blonde wig doing karate moves for nearly the entirety of the five-minute music video. Naturally, Sia is not in the video, which was shot in Chibo, Japan.

Sia originally wrote “Alive” with Adele to be included in the latter’s album 25, but Adele decided not to include it on her record. The song was then pitched to Rihanna, who also turned it down, and so Sia used it on her upcoming record This Is Acting, due out on January 29.

This is the second time Sia has been the musical guest on “SNL” in just the past year. In January, she performed “Elastic Heart” and “Chandelier” when Kevin Hart hosted the sketch comedy show. She returned the following month as a surprise when musical guest Kanye West performed “Wolves.”
