Shiloh Jolie-Pitt and Suri Cruise still aren’t close pals, despite a report a year ago that wrongly announced the famous celebrity offspring were “best friends.” Gossip Cop busted the phony story 365 days ago. Time has since proven our reporting was right.
On August 14, 2017, OK! peddled a story contending Angelina Jolie and Katie Holmes introduced their daughters two years prior, leading to a friendship. “Suri and Shiloh are pretty different, but they have a lot in common,” a so-called “source” was quoted as saying. Of course, the tabloid pointed out that both Jolie and Holmes were single moms after breaking up with their kids’ fathers.
In fact, it was alleged that following Jolie’s split from Brad Pitt, she “reached out to Katie to arrange follow-up ‘playdate’ for [their] girls.” Claimed the outlet’s untraceable tipster, “Since then, Suri and Shiloh have become pretty close.” The purported snitch offered no evidence to support that assertion, but maintained, “Suri’s gone through her own parents’ very public split and she’s been brilliant helping Shiloh get through the change in her family.” It was even said, “They’ve really bonded and now talk all the time.”
Actually, they weren’t talking at all. A spokesperson for Holmes told Gossip Cop on the record that Suri and Shiloh didn’t even “know each other.” And it doesn’t appear that’s changed. The tweens have never once been seen together, but they have each been seen out with other pals. For example, in June Suri was seen selling lemonade with a friend at the New York City Pride Parade. Meanwhile, even before this tale was peddled, Shiloh chose to spend her birthday last year with friends visiting from Cambodia, not Suri.
That’s especially noteworthy, because just two weeks before claiming they were “best friends,” this same publication contradictorily alleged Shiloh had no friends at all. The tabloid never explained how it went from asserting Shiloh was begging Jolie for friends to insisting Shiloh and Suri were secret “best friends” in a span of roughly 14 days. It was quite apparent back then that these narratives were bogus, and that’s even more clear now.
What’s more is that in the 12 months that have passed, the magazine has continued manufacture stories about both kids. Last October, for instance, the outlet absurdly dragged Shiloh into a post about Jolie and Harvey Weinstein. And just last month, the publication concocted an untrue story about Suri begging her dad to visit her. Gossip Cop understands that both children are sometimes in the spotlight thanks to their celebrity parents, but that doesn’t mean the gossip media should target them with phony articles.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
