Sharon Osbourne Mocks “Weeks To Live” Report On “The Talk” (VIDEO)

Truth rating: 10

On Tuesday’s episode of “The Talk,” Sharon Osbourne mocked a tabloid story wrongly claiming she has “weeks to live,” fake news that Gossip Cop was the first to bust. Check out the video below!

As Gossip Cop reported, last week the National Enquirer published an alarming story falsely claiming Osbourne had “weeks to live.” The sensational article was based on the British star’s recent back injury, for which she underwent surgery. But the supermarket tabloid went to extremes, alleging Osbourne was “fighting for her life,” and quoting a so-called “insider” who dramatically asserted, “This could be the end of Sharon.” Gossip Cop, however, pointed out the holes in the tall tale, and further confirmed with Osbourne’s rep that the contention she has “weeks to live” was a complete lie.

Now on her CBS talk show, Osbourne herself addressed the bogus report, first with Julie Chen reading aloud the article in a deadpan tone. Osbourne cracked afterwards, “I have always wanted to be on those tabloids. I wish they’d just said I was joining Elvis in space. I think it’s quite fabulous.”

Angry on behalf of her colleague, Aisha Tyler exclaimed, “Who the bleep is this ‘insider’? I’d like to give them a source!” Sara Gilbert noted she’s been the subject of death hoaxes, and Sheryl Underwood amusingly suggested they start making funeral plans for Osbourne. Quipped Chen, “We need to mark our calendars!” More seriously, she added, “I will say this, sometimes these stories base what they report on, like, a grain of truth. So, for the record, what can you tell us about truly how long you have to live?”

Osbourne replied, “Well, I don’t know!” After all, who does know how long one has? That said, she explained, “I had back surgery. I was in agony. It’s coming up [on] three months. Every day I get stronger and stronger, and I’m doing fine. Unless they know something I don’t know.” The panelists went on to discuss Richard Simmons suing the National Enquirer for falsely claiming he was transitioning.

Gossip Cop was the first to bust that untrue article, too. Check out the videos below to see Osbourne’s full comments on “The Talk.” NOTE: The video is no longer available.
