Selena Gomez did not have a “pregnancy scare,” despite a new report that wrongly dupes its readers into thinking the star was pregnant. Gossip Cop can correct this claim.

The allegation comes from the often disproven National Enquirer, which blares in a deceptive headline, “Selena Pregnancy Horror!” In its bogus article, the tabloid contends that Gomez “decided to take a chance of having sex without birth control,” but her “risk” soon “backfired” when she took an inconclusive pregnancy test.

In addition to a number of medical opinions on Gomez’s case, a so-called “source” tells the outlet, “She’s just getting her career back on track after her stint in rehab, and the last thing she needed was to get pregnant.” The magazine’s dubious insider further purports, “Selena was terrified,” adding that she “dodged a bullet.”

But Gossip Cop investigated into the Enquirer’s latest claim, and a source close to the singer-actress tells Gossip Cop the entire article is “made up.” What’s more, to lead its readers into believing it has genuine sources, the tabloid quotes “medical professionals,” but they’re clearly unaware of Gomez’s unique situation and have never examined her. To put it bluntly, Gomez did not have a pregnancy scare, and any claims made otherwise are simply false.

It should be noted, Gossip Cop routinely correct the supermarket tabloid for concocting inaccurate stories about the star. In February, we busted the publication for wrongly claiming Gomez left an intervention from her friends and family to party with The Weeknd. And shortly before that tall tale, we called out the magazine for falsely alleging Gomez caused Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s divorce. As our readers will expect, neither report was true, and the same goes for this latest piece of fiction.
