Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato did not make plans to do a future duet during their reunion at the InStyle Awards on Monday, despite a fabricated report. Gossip Cop can exclusively set the record straight. We’re told it’s “not true.”

According to the serial fabricators at HollywoodLife, Gomez and Lovato are planning to collaborate on an upcoming and “major” duet. After the two were together at the InStyle Awards in Los Angeles, a so-called “source” is conveniently quoted telling the site, “Selena and Demi totally support each other. They have remained friends, are past all the drama, and are in a really good place.” The outlet’s questionable “insider” continues, “Seeing each other at the event was great, and they gushed over fashion and their dresses. They both were jealous of how good the other looked. It was a total love-fest for the girls, who don’t get to see each other all that often.”

What’s more, the outlet’s seemingly fake “source” goes on to contend, “They both complimented each other’s new music” and even “brought up the possibility of a collaboration.” “Selena and Demi both dropped names of major music producers they loved working with and vowed to make time in the near future to put something out together,” adds site’s supposed tipster.

Let Gossip Cop explain what’s really going on. It’s no secret that Gomez and Lovato reunited at the InStyle Awards. They were even pictured together (above), but the aptly nicknamed HollywoodLies manufactured many of its “exclusive” details in its article. Remember, this is all coming from the same website that Gomez herself called “the worst,” so we’re hardly surprised.

Regardless, a source close to Lovato tells us the report is simply “not true.” While a future collaboration could happen one day down the road, the longtime friends certainly didn’t discuss a “possible duet” at the event, contrary to the outlet’s bogus assertion.
