The alleged details of Selena Gomez and The Weeknd’s so-called “first fight” have been made up by HollywoodLife, an untrustworthy webloid that routinely pretends to have insider knowledge about celebrities. Gossip Cop can expose the site’s latest article as more fiction.

According to the repeatedly discredited outlet, the couple of around eight months got into their first spat the day after her 25th birthday last month. A supposed “source” tells the site that their supposed argument stemmed from having a long-distance relationship because he’s often away on tour. “Being apart for such long stretches is hard, it’s stressful and she still struggles with trust sometimes,” says the webloid’s questionable insider.

The outlet’s dubious source continues, “It wasn’t really that big of a deal, in a way it was good because instead of letting it escalate they talked it out and in the end it brought them closer.” The phony insider concludes, “She didn’t bottle up her feelings and he didn’t run away, no one likes confrontation but it’s necessary sometimes.”

But Gossip Cop has repeatedly been told that no one in either Gomez or The Weeknd’s trusted inner circle is speaking to HollywoodLife about their relationship, and that remains the case. The webloid’s account of the couple’s alleged “first fight” is nothing more than fan fiction. It’s also quite suspicious that the site is reporting this supposed disagreement nearly a month after it allegedly occurred. Regardless, an actual source close to the situation tells us the article is entirely made-up.

Of course, Gossip Cop has caught HollywoodLife publishing fake stories about the couple countless times, so this latest fabrication isn’t shocking. We recently busted the site for purporting to know Gomez’s reaction to The Weeknd’s Harper’s Bazaar cover shoot. Gossip Cop also recently called out the webloid for lying about Gomez’s birthday celebrations with her boyfriend. This latest article is more nonsense from the frequently discredited outlet.
