A story about how Selena Gomez loves Justin Bieber even more after "family drama" was made-up. It was designed to shamefully try to capitalize on the on-and-off couple's relationship, as well as Gomez's situation with her family. In busting this article, Gossip Cop can explain how this is fan-fiction being disingenuously sold to readers as real news.

HollywoodLife is purporting to have "exclusive details" on how Gomez and Bieber's romance is "turning into a Romeo and Juliet situation." Apparently the site thought that would be a romantic comparison to make, forgetting that both Romeo and Juliet die in the end. Anyway, the gist of this concocted narrative is that Gomez is "impressed" Bieber is showing "maturity" as her family pushes back against their renewed relationship. A so-called "source close to Selena" is quoted as saying, "Selena is so relieved that Justin has been giving her space to figure things out with her family. This is an incredibly hard situation for both of them and the way Justin is handling it is giving her even more reason to love and trust him."

The outlet is wrongly making it seem like the pair have temporarily gone their separate ways. In actuality, they've spent time together this week, including Gomez attending Bieber's hockey game just days ago. The online publication then makes it even more clear it doesn't know what's actually going on when it asserts Gomez's mom, Mandy Teefey, was hospitalized "after allegedly having a blowout fight with her daughter." If the blog really has a "source close to Selena," why doesn't it know for sure if the pair actually or allegedly had an argument?

HollywoodLies, as it's nicknamed, shows it has no first-hand knowledge by instead regurgitating reporting from TMZ. In reality, Gomez's mom wasn't just hospitalized because of Bieber issues. But rather than fact-checking, the webloid rushed to churn out another tall tale to garner traffic.

Of course, it's no surprise that Gossip Cop has again confirmed no one legitimately connected to the singer-actress is talking to HollywoodLies about her relationship with either her mom or Bieber considering Gomez called the site the "worst" in an interview with Billboard. Sadly, the publication seems determined to exploit her anyway, which is why it has manufactured an inauthentic article around information from another outlet. Fans are being duped with stories as fictional as Romeo and Juliet.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
