A new report from HollywoodLife alleges Selena Gomez is "excited" for Taylor Swift to release her new album and "defend her reputation," but the entire story is manufactured. Gossip Cop can reveal the truth behind this latest piece of fake news. We're told the claim is "made-up" and that no one close to Gomez is talking to the website.
According to the often disproven outlet, Gomez has been by Swift's side "through all of the drama of the past year," and she "can't wait to see how it translates in her new Reputation album." In the piece, a so-called "source" is quoted as saying, "Selena is as excited as any fan with anticipation for Taylor's upcoming album." The webloid's seemingly nonexistent insider goes on to claim that Gomez is "looking forward to Taylor getting a lot off her chest with her new music," and wonders if Swift will be "defending her reputation on the album."
Oddly, HollywoodLife's latest story comes just months after it falsely alleged Gomez had broken the "girl code" with Swift, having been spotted at a John Mayer concert. As you'll recall, Mayer and Swift dated, and their split served as the basis for her song "Dear John." Shortly before that "Girl Code" article, Gossip Cop corrected the repeatedly discredited website for wrongly claiming Swift and Gomez ignored each other at an Oscars party in March.
Now, HollywoodLies, as it's known, would like its readers to forget about all the falsehoods it manufactured about Gomez and Swift, and have everyone believe they finally have an insider feeding them information. What's really going on is that the serial fibbers took the release of Swift's new song, "Look What You Made Me Do," and used the opportunity to make-up another story. As noted above, Gossip Cop has been assured on numerous occasions that no one from Gomez's trusted inner circle is talking to the site about her.
And why would an actual Gomez insider speak to HollywoodLies? Remember, Gomez herself called HollywoodLife "the worst" for constant making up fake news about her. Undoubtedly, the "Fetish" singer is excited for her longtime friend to release her new album, but HollywoodLies certainly doesn't have an exclusive scoop on how Gomez feels. Regardless, Gossip Cop looked into the claim and a Gomez confidante tells us the story is 100 percent "made-up."
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
