Selena Gomez did not get a new dog after her kidney transplant to help her heal or for support, despite a made-up report. Gossip Cop is assured the claim is fabricated. We’re told, “One thing has nothing to do with the other.”

HollywoodLife concocts so many phony stories about Gomez that she once publicly called the blog “the worst.” Now, the site has taken two real-life occurrences — that Gomez had a kidney transplant and got a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel — and used them to manufacture a wholly untrue article. And to back up its claim that she got a puppy to help heal after her operation, the outlet quotes a dog trainer, who seemingly has never met Gomez, as saying her new pooch could serve as “an emotional support animal.” The trainer further notes the particular breed she got is “cuddly” and that they “bond very strongly.” But the truth is the trainer and HollywoodLies, as it’s sometimes called, have no idea whatsoever about Gomez’s motivation for getting the dog she named Charlie.

What the often discredited site glaringly neglects to mention in its made-up article is that Gomez is a dog person. She’s had several dogs before her kidney transplant and presumably will have many more afterwards. Among the dogs Gomez has had over the years are a husky mix named Baylor, another pooch named Chazz, a corgi called Chip, a Rhodesian ridgeback mix named Fina, a boxer-shepherd mix called Wallace, and Willie, a Labrador retriever. The fact that she got another puppy is totally unconnected to her healing and needing support following her surgery. It seems HollywoodLies, which didn’t even mention her other dogs, was simply focused on crafting another fabricated article about Gomez.

To say HollywoodLife is not entirely credible with its Gomez stories would be an understatement. Within just the past 24 hours, we busted the site for making up a totally fictitious article about Gomez going to be an “American Idol” judge. Her rep exclusively told Gossip Cop, “There’s not even been a conversation” about it.

As Gossip Cop noted above, HollywoodLies likes to run fabricated stories about Gomez. The actress-singer herself once said on social media that the website is “never true.” Well, this latest tail, er, tale about Gomez getting a new dog to help her heal and support her after her kidney transplant is untrue. An insider assures Gossip Cop, “One thing has nothing to do with the other.”
