Selena Gomez is not getting "cozy" with Brad Pitt. Nor has she "betrayed" The Weekend by "flirting" behind his back. Gossip Cop can debunk both of these erroneous claims, which come from the same sensational report.

"Betrayed! Selena Getting Cozy With Brad Behind The Weeknd's Back," announces RadarOnline, which claims Gomez and Pitt have been "carrying on a secret flirtation for almost two years." According to the webloid, the singer-actress is "putting her romance with The Weeknd in jeopardy by getting cozy" with Pitt through "regularly scheduled phone calls." A so-called "source" is quoted as saying, "Brad's a huge fan of Selena. They've stayed in touch ever since the Golden Globes last year."

Gomez had a cameo in The Big Short and posed with the actor-producer at the 2016 awards show. Of course, that innocent act got the rumor mill churning to the point where the site actually accused Gomez of causing Pitt's split from Angelina Jolie months later. The allegation was total nonsense, but now the outlet is going back to Gomez and Pitt's casual encounter to suggest something was starting to blossom between them. The supposed snitch claims, "Of course, it was the worst possible time for him to start a new romance, but the spark was definitely there and she was hugely attracted to him as well."

"Brad really admires how courageous Selena's been throughout her health crisis, and she's equally proud of him for getting sober," continues the online publication's alleged tipster. As for The Weeknd, the webloid maintains that "despite the flirty exchanges between Gomez and Pitt," the couple is "'rock solid' in their relationship, at least for now, and they're even considering getting a puppy together to cement their love." But if RadarOnline had a real "source," as it claims, it would know that Gomez and The Weeknd already adopted a dog named Charlie weeks ago.

Quite frankly, it seems like the site just wanted to put the names of three popular celebrities in a headline for search traffic and concocted a bogus love triangle to get people to click. Even the main claim doesn't make much sense. Gomez and Pitt are supposedly getting "cozy," but only talking on the phone? Unsurprisingly, some lemmings have already picked up specious contentions, with the Daily Star going as far as asking if Gomez and Pitt are the "next Brangelina." Please. They barely have a connection, let alone a romance. And Gossip Cop is told these allegations about "betraying" The Weeknd with a "secret flirtation" are totally bogus. In fact, a Pitt source even tells us, "This is complete nonsense and untrue."
