Are the Kardashians “petrified” Scott Disick will expose their dirty secrets in a no-holds-barred book about the family? That’s what a couple of tabloids reported exactly one year ago today. At the time, Gossip Cop busted the untrue premise about Disick wanting to slam the famous family, and now 12 months later it’s even clear he has no intention of getting “revenge” on them in print.

On December 1, 2017, Life & Style and its sister publication In Touch maintained in nearly identical articles that Disick was going to reveal all the “skeletons in their closets” and “where the bodies are buried” for a big, fat paycheck. The reason, according to the tabloids, was that Disick had a “grudge” against his ex-girlfriend Kourtney Kardashian’s siblings and mom for allegedly exploiting his “personal demons” and “addiction issues” in exchange for ratings on “Keeping Up With The Kardashians.” And to get “revenge,” claimed the magazines, Disick was looking to pen an explosive $10 million expose.

The publications asserted Kourtney was especially “panicked” because he knew the most about her and was “not as involved” with her or her family anymore. They also promised the book would delve into Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s marriage and would feature embarrassingly personal anecdotes about Kris Jenner. At the time, a Kardashian confidante assured Gossip Cop there was no chance Disick would write a $10 million tell-all about the Kardashians and Jenners, and now a full 365 days have passed and there’s no book or even talk of one from anywhere legitimate.

As Gossip Cop likes to say, time is not the friend of outlets that publish phony reports. A little more than a week ago, Kourtney posted a photo on Instagram of her, Disick and their kids on Thanksgiving, along with a note that read how “beyond grateful” she was to spend it with them and many other members of the family. If they were truly “petrified,” the Kardashians wouldn’t have spent that holiday with Disick. And obviously, if he had a “grudge” or was looking for “revenge” for allegedly being used just for ratings, Disick wouldn’t have voluntary appeared on subsequent seasons of “Keeping Up With The Kardashians.”

The two related outlets that made the claim have a spotty track record when it comes to accuracy about Disick. Shortly before that story, In Touch wrongly asserted Disick and Sofia Richie were engaged. And just days after the nonsense about him penning a dishy book, Gossip Cop busted the same outlet for incorrectly maintaining Disick worries his son Reign is not his child. Meanwhile, Life & Style published an article nine months earlier that similarly contended inaccurately how Disick was writing a Kardashian’s tell-all book. But a falsehood told over and over doesn’t make it true, which is why Gossip Cop occasionally looks back at past reports so our readers can better assess who tells lies and who’s reliable.
