Scarlett Johansson’s movie career has been the subject of many false tabloid stories. In fact, Gossip Cop has debunked several phony articles about the actress’s professional life. Here are a few wrong rumors.

Just last week, Gossip Cop busted the National Enquirer for untruthfully contending Johansson was feuding with Angelina Jolie because Jolie pushed for her Maleficent sequel to get released this year instead of in 2020, supposedly putting the film in competition with Johansson’s movie JoJo Rabbit. The story made very little sense. For starters, it was Disney that decided to move the Maleficent sequel to this year because there was too much competition in its original slot.

Additionally, the World War II satire JoJo Rabbit doesn’t have a release date yet, and there’s no indication it’s opening on the same weekend as Jolie’s Disney sequel. The two films are also catered to entirely different audiences. Simply put, the two actresses aren’t feuding because they’re both in movies being released this fall.

Last month, Gossip Cop called out Star for wrongly asserting Johansson was “tired” of hanging out with her Avengers: Endgame co-stars, and was happy that their promotional tour was coming to an end. The magazine claimed the actress felt her castmates, including Robert Downey Jr., Paul Rudd and Chris Hemsworth, were “bringing her down and not allowing her talent to shine.” In reality, Johansson formed a close bond with her Avengers co-stars throughout their years of working together. Not only do videos from the press tour prove she had a blast promoting the movie with the cast, but Johansson and some of the other stars got matching Avengers tattoos last year to commemorate their time working on the franchise.

Also last month, Gossip Cop debunked an OK! article that maintained Johansson was refusing to diet or exercise for her role in the upcoming Black Widow movie. The outlet alleged the actress was “planning to cut corners” when it came to filming her Avengers spinoff, and had “no interest in gaining muscle or learning new fight moves.” The story was bogus.

The actress has always been dedicated to preparing for her roles in action movies. When asked in a recent interview about her “strict” workout regimen, Johansson noted, “I actually appreciate that discipline. It helps me focus on my job.” Johansson has no intention of “cutting corners” for her first solo outing as Black Widow.

And in 2017, Gossip Cop busted OK! for falsely claiming Johansson was refusing to dye her hair red for her role in Avengers: Infinity War. The story emerged after a poster for the movie revealed her character was blonde, unlike in the previous installments where her hair was red. A supposed source told the magazine the actress wouldn’t dye her hair anymore because it was “dry, brittle, and breaking from constantly switching [colors].”

Not only did a production insider assure us the story was nonsense, but the magazine failed to realize that the actress never actually dyed her hair red for any of the Avengers films. Instead, Johansson has worn many different wigs in the Marvel franchise. She was never required to dye her hair, and she didn’t refuse to do so for Infinity War.
