Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost are not holding their wedding on a hotel rooftop in New York City, despite a made-up tabloid report. Gossip Cop can debunk the story. We’ve learned it’s untrue.

According to Star, the actress and the “Saturday Night Live” star are finalizing the details of their upcoming wedding, which will supposedly take place sometime in the fall. An anonymous source tells the outlet, “People have been told to save the date.” The questionable insider further contends that Johansson and Jost want an intimate ceremony with just the two of them when they exchange vows, but they’ll have a large reception immediately after walking down the aisle .

“They’ll throw a huge soiree at a plush hotel rooftop afterward,” adds the alleged insider, who doesn’t actually know the venue where the party is being held or a specific date for it. The seemingly phony source maintains “it’ll be some place with a glorious view of Manhattan,” but that’s where all details end.

Gossip Cop reached out to Johansson’s spokesperson, who tells us on the record there’s “no truth” to the tabloid’s story. The actress’s rep, who’s qualified to speak on her behalf, further notes, “No wedding date has been set, therefore no save the dates have been sent. Complete lies!”

Star is the same outlet that Gossip Cop busted in May for wrongly reporting that Johansson and Jost were “calling it quits.” Mere days after the tabloid published its bogus story, the two stars got engaged. Considering that the magazine mistakenly believed the couple was splitting just prior to their engagement, it’s safe to say the outlet knows very little about their relationship. That goes for their wedding plans as well.

Meanwhile, Gossip Cop called out the tabloid last November for making up a story about Johansson telling Jost to quit “SNL” and focus more on their relationship. In the time since we debunked the phony article, the actress has accompanied her fiancé to multiple tapings of the NBC show, as well as its afterparties. Johansson has always been supportive of the comedian’s career.

Back in 2017, Gossip Cop corrected the magazine for insisting Jost would be proposing to Johansson by the end of that year. The couple’s engagement didn’t come until May 2019. The tabloid’s various articles about the engaged couple have been consistently wrong. The “insiders” spilling these scoops to the publication are either terribly unreliable or flat-out nonexistent.
