Are Sarah Silverman and Michael Sheen really headed for a split because she refuses to marry him? One of this week’s new tabloids claims the couple’s relationship is in trouble over her noncommittal attitude, but Gossip Cop looked into the story and we’ve exclusively learned the truth.

A so-called “source” tells the National Enquirer, “Sarah likes their see-each-other-when-we-can status, while Michael is looking for a wife. Michael is becoming increasingly interested in social activism in the U.K. and wants to live there full time with a family, including Sarah.” The outlet’s dubious insider goes on to say Sheen is “tired of introducing Sarah as his girlfriend, and dying to change her mind about all this,” but she isn’t budging, “and the tension is thick between them.”

But Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for Silverman, who exclusively assures us the tabloid’s report is simply “not true.” We’re told the comedienne and actor, who’ve been together since early 2014, are on the same page when it comes to their relationship. Oddly enough, Gossip Cop busted the Enquirer in July 2016 for wrongly reporting Silverman and Sheen were engaged. Of course, there was no truth to the claim, and both have since publicly stated they don’t feel compelled to legally wed.

Additionally, the Enquirer’s sister publication, Star, published a completely contradictory story when the couple first began dating in 2014. The outlet contended that Silverman was pressuring her boyfriend to propose, but he wasn’t ready. The stand-up comic took to Twitter to shoot down the magazine’s false rumor, saying, “Just read that I wanna get married which is hilarious b/c I will never get married. Why would I want the govt involved in my love life? Ew. It’s barbaric.” Sheen has no problem with his girlfriend’s opinion on the matter, regardless of this latest article claiming otherwise.
