Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are not having marriage trouble, despite a false report claiming the couple's 21-year union is nearing an end. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this nonsense. A rep for the actress tells us it's not true.
The actress was in Rome last week without her husband or her wedding ring, which was enough for Woman's Day to determine the couple is headed for a split. A so-called "insider" tells the magazine, "It's not a good sign if Sarah doesn't care whether or not the world knows she's taken." According to the unreliable outlet, Parker will only wear her wedding band if she's going to an event where she knows she'll be photographed. This is provably untrue.
Earlier this month, Parker walked the red carpet at an HBO event without wearing her ring. In fact, Parker is often sans wedding ring while accompanied by Broderick himself, including at the 10th annual Love 'N' Courage Benefit in New York City, where the actress posed ringless while standing next to her husband. Insisting the actress is headed for a divorce because she was spotted without her ring is simply ridiculous. The spouses of 21 years don't need to constantly wear jewelry to convince the world they're still together.
In addition to the tabloid making false contentions about the actress's ring-wearing habits, Parker herself discussed her happy marriage in an interview with People earlier this year. The actress explained that her relationship has endured for so long because after more than two decades with Broderick, "I still really like him." Parker also talked about her future plans with her husband, which will "definitely" include lots of traveling.
Meanwhile, Parker paid tribute to Broderick on Instagram last month in honor of their 21st wedding anniversary. The actress shared a throwback picture with her husband, along with the caption "May 19th. Yep, it's a good day to get married. Happy 21st anniversary baby. XXX, your wife." In addition to Parker herself indicating her marriage is going strong, the actress's spokesperson tells Gossip Cop on the record that all claims of marital drama are "false."
Unfortunately, this is hardly the first time we've had to correct breakup rumors about the famous couple. Gossip Cop busted OK! just last month for wrongly reporting that Parker and Broderick were "on the rocks" and living "separate lives. Earlier this year, that same magazine made up false rumors about Parker and Broderick having a "marriage crisis" over their busy work schedules.
Conclusion: Parker has demonstrated she has a strong marriage, both in interviews and on social media. The tabloid has demonstrated it has no insight into why and when she chooses to wear her wedding ring. These continuous articles about the couple splitting just aren't true, and have obviously never panned out. In fact, Parker and Broderick were recently included in a Vogue article dedicated to the longest celebrity relationships. When it comes to the state of Parker's marriage, Gossip Cop will take the actress's word for it, not allegations from an anonymous "insider" and baseless speculation from an untrustworthy tabloid.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
