Are Sacha Baron Cohen and wife Isla Fisher really living "separate lives"? That's the claim in one of this week's tabloids. Gossip Cop looked into the supposed marital drama and we can set the record straight.
According to NW, the spouses of eight years have hit a rough patch because the actress is tired of looking after their three kids while he's away shooting projects. An alleged insider tells the magazine, "Isla doesn't really visit Sacha when he's working... it's just too hard with school and the kids' activities. But this means she's often on her own doing it all. It must get tiring." The story is untrue from the very start. Just a few months ago, Fisher shared an Instagram photo from the set of Cohen's upcoming Netflix series "The Spy."
Still, the magazine's questionable source says Fisher is being comforted "by pals like Amal Clooney" amid her supposed marriage problems. The seemingly nonexistent tipster adds, "Isla has been incredibly understanding towards Sacha and his career, and knew what she was signing up for. But surely it's still got to be difficult for her."
The tabloid's article is based on claims from an anonymous and untraceable "insider," but Gossip Cop checked in with Fisher's rep, who tells us on the record that it's "a fabrication." In fact, Cohen and Fisher were spotted together at a shopping mall in Los Angeles just last week, so the idea they're living "separate lives" simply isn't true.
Additionally, the actress frequently gives her husband shoutouts on social media. Fisher posted on Instagram in honor of Cohen's birthday earlier this month. Fisher later shared an Instagram photo from her husband's birthday celebration. The actress also supported Cohen when he was honored at last month's British GQ Men of the Year Awards. Meanwhile, Fisher also acknowledged her husband's honor on Instagram, joking, "Congratulations 'Man of the Year' now can you empty the kitty litter?"
It's worth noting, Fisher has a busy career of her own, despite the magazine trying to make it seem as if she's a stay-at-home mom. The actress was in Greece earlier this month filming the upcoming comedy Greed. She also appears in the upcoming Matthew McConaughey comedy The Beach Bum, and is attached to co-star alongside Keanu Reeves in the drama The Starling. The actress and her husband have clearly found a way to juggle their busy careers and family life. Regardless, Fisher was spotted shopping with Cohen last week, she frequently posts about him on social media, and her own spokesperson says NW's story is bogus.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
