Is Ryan Seacrest quitting “Live” over Kelly Ripa’s attitude? That’s the claim from the same tabloid that falsely alleged she was quitting nearly a year ago. Gossip Cop busted that story, and now we can do the same with this new one.

“Fed-Up Ryan Leaving ‘Live,'” the National Enquirer announces in a headline in its new issue. According to the supermarket tabloid, Seacrest is “on the verge of quitting” the talk show to escape Ripa’s “domineering diva-tude.” A so-called “insider” is quoted as saying, “Ryan’s tried to bend over backwards to please Kelly, but he still can’t get his own way.”

It’s alleged that while Seacrest “wants to be loved,” she “only cares about ratings,” and he’s “sick and tired of it.” The magazine contends “the end came when Kelly seemed to hang Ryan out to dry” while he was embroiled in a sexual harassment scandal. Though Ripa defended Seacest on “Live,” and gushed about working together, the outlet claims he received “little public support from her.”

“The battle for popularity has driven him over the edge,” the supposed source goes on to assert, further claiming Seacrest has met with producers to discuss his “gripes.” Maintains the alleged tipster, “He said if things didn’t change, he would walk — and they didn’t try to talk him out of it.” The publication insists, “He’s done playing second fiddle.”

The tabloid, however, has tried this storyline before. Last July, there was a similar story contending Seacrest was “walking out” on “Live” as he was supposedly unhappy being “second banana to Kelly.” As Gossip Cop pointed out then, he has a long-term deal for the talk show. Tellingly, the very next month, the magazine changed the narrative to claim Ripa was quitting. In a fabricated cover story, it was alleged she was “fuming” over possibly relocating the show to Los Angeles. But as we reported, such a move was never in the works.

As for the pair clashing, their rapport is obvious every time they’re on the air, and both have the title of executive producer. That puts them on equal footing. Furthermore, in December, Ripa told the New York Times that Seacrest is “the future of the franchise,” and made a similar comment last June. It makes no sense then to allege she isn’t supportive of him.

It should also be noted that Seacrest’s Twitter header is currently a picture of him and Ripa, which indicates he hasn’t soured on her at all. Gossip Cop also checked in with his spokesperson, who tells us on the record it’s “untrue” that he’s intending to quit their show. In May, we rounded up a bunch of wrong rumors about Seacrest and Ripa that were peddled since they started working together last year. It’s too bad there’s now another false story to add to the group from a tabloid that’s already proven to be untrustworthy when it comes to the co-hosts.
