Ryan Seacrest is not planning to leave “Live,” despite a new speculative story. Gossip Cop can exclusively set the record straight.

Since Seacrest joined “Live with Kelly,” RadarOnline has been spreading fake news related to his new job. Much of it has been connected to “American Idol,” as the TV personality remains in negotiations to join the revival on the ABC. Now the site is asking, “Ryan Seacrest Planning To Leave ‘Live’ For Lucrative ‘American Idol’ Deal?” The report says he’s “very close” to signing on the dotted line, and asserts that “in doing so, he may be giving up his current gig – as co-host of ‘Live’ alongside Kelly Ripa!”

“Honestly, Ryan is just not sure whether he wants to stay on as co-host of ‘Live’ anymore,” a so-called “source” is quoted as saying. “He is going to stick out his contract, obviously. But New York City does not feel like home to him and he really misses L.A.”

Those quotes, however, do not jive with the rest of the article or reality. While New York may not feel like home to Seacrest yet, he is traveling back to Los Angeles regularly. And we already called out the webloid for falsely claiming Seacrest is “miserable” in the city. Furthermore, Seacrest has given no indication that he’s “not sure” he wants to stay on the show. In fact, he’s even hosting this week without Ripa.

Perhaps most importantly, though, is that RadarOnline first suggests he may “leave ‘Live'” and be “giving up his current gig” for “American Idol,” but then says he’ll “stick out his contract.” Well, Seacrest has a long-term deal with “Live,” Gossip Cop confirms, and there’s already talk about him becoming the face of the series when Ripa eventually retires. So, if he’s sticking out his contract, then he’s obviously not leaving the talk show for “Idol” any time soon.

Gossip Cop is assured Seacrest will only do “Idol” in conjunction with “Live,” not in place of it, with Ripa’s full support. And this particular online publication has been a very poor resource for accurate news on the star and both shows. Just last week we busted the outlet for wrongly claiming Seacrest might not return to “American Idol” if Simon Cowell does. But Cowell has no intention of coming back to the reality show, so it was a total non-issue. For continual fake news on these subjects, there’s RadarOnline. But if you want the truth, stick with Gossip Cop.
