Ryan Seacrest NOT “Nervous” About Oscars Red Carpet, Despite Report

A new story that claims Ryan Seacrest is “nervous” to host the Oscars red carpet is not true. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this made-up article that seems to be nothing more than speculation about Seacrest’s mindset before the Academy Awards after having been accused of sexual misconduct by a former stylist. We told the entire story is “untrue.”

HollywoodLife, a site so well-known for manufacturing fake news that it’s often called HollywoodLies, alleges to have insight into how Seacrest is “preparing” for the Oscars following harassment allegations from one former employee. It should be noted the TV star himself willingly participated in an E! investigation, which cleared Seacrest, as opposed to the same network’s parent company throwing out Matt Lauer quickly after accusations were made against the “Today” show host.

HollywoodLies, however, maintains “Ryan is nervous but optimistic over his Oscars red carpet work… He has not felt this anxious since his first red carpet years ago.” The site alleges a supposed “insider” asserts, “Ryan is softening a lot of the questions he had planned for the red carpet.” “He is now rehearsing delicate phrases to help him navigate any sensitive situation that may arise,” adds the seemingly concocted tipster.

Gossip Cop reached out to a slew of sources connected to Seacrest and each and every one of them assures us that no one in the TV personality’s inner circle is sharing anything with gossip outlets. Additionally, when HollywoodLies manufactured its story on Saturday evening about how Seacrest was “preparing” for the Oscars, he was actually, at that exact time, rehearsing for “American Idol,” which premieres in one week.

We hear that while Seacrest is not upset and didn’t hesitate to cooperate with E!’s investigation, he’s “frustrated” because he’s never had a history of being accused of inappropriate behavior and, other than the former stylist, Suzie Hardy, his mostly female staff has never filed a grievance with human resources or felt he was predatory in any manner. Actually, Gossip Cop is told it’s going to be “business as usual” for Seacrest on the red carpet, and he expects that since no sexual misconduct was proven against him, “A-list talent will be talking to him.”

Several months ago when Hardy’s claims first emerged, Seacrest vigorously denied the stylist’s misconduct allegations. He told the Hollywood Reporter that during his quarter of a century in show business, “the majority of my co-workers have been women, and I’ve endeavored to foster a positive work environment of mutual respect and courtesy.” And while he noted he was “distraught” by the accusations, he added, “I’m proud of my workplace reputation, and believe my track record will speak for itself.”

In the hours leading up to the Oscars, one longtime female staffer told Gossip Cop that she felt the media has unfairly dragged his name through the mud since he’s been a big supporter on the #MeToo movement and the “facts are on his side.” Editor’s note: Gossip Cop would like to make clear that we’re not commenting on the whether Hardy’s allegations are true or not. We simply fact-checked HollywoodLife’s story and have determined that no one in his camp shared the false claim of him being “nervous” about the Oscars red carpet with that repeatedly disproven site.
