Ryan Quinn showed a new side of himself with Sam Smith’s “I’m Not The Only One” on “The Voice” on Monday’s Live Playoffs. Watch below!

As Gossip Cop has reported, Quinn has been a season 10 standout since his Blind Auditions, in which he got all four coaches to turn around. The music teacher chose to join Team Adam, and emerged victorious during the Battles. Then during the Knockouts, he was stolen by Christina Aguilera.

Now his first Team Christina performance was also his first live performance on the NBC music competition. And while Quinn has largely been considered a rock-alternative artist, the aspiring star went in a different direction this time around. Singing Smith’s hit, Quinn appeared vulnerable in a way he never has before.

And it paid off big time, as he received a standing ovation from the entire panel. “That was one of those performances where you have to give it up,” Pharrell told Quinn afterward. “You’re a hater if you don’t give it up.”

Former coach Levine gave props to both Quinn and Aguilera, saying, “You both managed to kind of crack the code, and you elevated to a level I knew you could elevate to… That was the best performance I’ve seen you do.”

And Aguilera told Levine, “Well, thank you to Adam for allowing the opportunity for Ryan to be on my team.” To Quinn she added, “You gave this song a whole new life.” Check out the video below!
