Robert Pattinson isn’t averse to the idea of a Twilight reboot. In an interview to promote his new film, The Lost City of Z, the actor admits he’s open to the possibility of continuing the popular franchise, but it would have to be “radical.”

“I’m always kind of curious,” Pattinson tells Yahoo! Movies about the potential of reprising the role of Edward Cullen. “Anything where there’s a mass audience… I always like the idea of subverting people’s expectations.” Although there’s currently no such reboot in development, the actor still believes “there could be some radical way of doing it, which could be quite fun.” He further contends that it will be “difficult” to make another film in the series because “there’s no source material,” but says he’s “always curious” regardless.

As for his relationship with the diehard Twilight fans these days, Pattinson reveals that the craze has “definitely calmed down in terms of my everyday life, but mainly because I spend more time in London, which is totally different.” He adds, “I’m doing more parts that just sort of interest me, while in a lot of ways taking a little bit of a step back just to learn and get better.” Still, Pattinson remains somewhat removed from the popularity of the franchise, admitting, “I’ve never really acknowledged what the fan base is, or even if I have one.”
