Robert Pattinson did not "hint" at a "possible reunion" with Kristen Stewart, despite a new claim. An inaccurate story topping search results is misleading fans. Gossip Cop can set the record straight.
This fake news comes from an outlet named Korea Portal. Though there's no evidence that this is a reliable site for information on American and British celebrities, its erroneous article on Stewart and Pattinson is being offered as a "top story" when searching for information on the actress (see screengrab below). The headline states, "Robert Pattinson 2018: Kristen Stewart's Ex Hints At Possible Reunion With 'Twilight' Co-Star Amidst Stella Maxwell Breakup Rumors."
The piece begins by contending the former couple has been "playing the 'will they/won't they' game for a long time," and asks, "But is it possible that Pattinson has teased on the possibility that he will work with Stewart again in the future?" According to this bogus spin, such a "reunion might finally confirm" Stewart has "finally broken up" with Maxwell. This premise is based partially on grainy photos of Stewart and Pattinson having a "reunion" at the Chateau Marmont a few weeks ago, when they both attended a birthday party for Lily-Rose Depp.
On top of that, the publication maintains Pattinson has "enthusiastically spoken about his working relationship with the Personal Shopper actress." This is a reference to a recent "Entertainment Tonight" interview, in which Pattinson was asked about the "boss ladies" he's "had the pleasure of working with." He named Damsel co-star Mia Wasikowska, Kristin Scott Thomas and Uma Thurman before the interviewer interjected, "I thought you were going to say Kristen Stewart, because I saw you guys just hung out the other day."
Korea Portal asserts, "Pattinson's face actually grew bright with a huge smile as he enthusiastically agreed, repeating her name three times." Of course, what the website doesn't mention is that the actor then ignored a question about them hanging out together and moved on to name Catherine Hardwicke as another "boss lady." Still, the outlet goes on to ask, "So is it possible that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart will get back together soon?"
Then, despite alleging earlier in the article that there are "breakup rumors" surrounding Stewart and Maxwell, the site admits the actress "might still be very much in love" with her girlfriend as they've been "seen packing on the PDA." But the publication adds in its conclusion, "Nevertheless, there is hope that Stewart might work with Pattinson on a new project sometime in the future." Yes, fans and readers can hope.
But Pattinson in no way "hinted" about a "possible reunion" on-screen or off. Stewart's name came up in passing, and not in the context of working together in the future. Pattinson's latest project is The King, which does not involve his ex, and Stewart is working on Against All Enemies, which similarly does not involve him. And none of the trusted trade publications have reported anything about them circulating projects that would entail them becoming co-stars again.
As for the pair reuniting romantically, Stewart and Maxwell have indeed been showing PDA, including earlier this week. That makes it pretty obvious she's not on the verge of a reconciliation with Pattinson. In fact, it should be fairly obvious that they're not currently planning to team up again professionally, either. But when one of the top results on a search engine is giving misinformation, the record should be transparently corrected.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
