The Deauville American Film Festival is held annually in the French city to celebrate American filmmaking. Pattinson was in attendance today to promote Good Time, which is having its French premiere at the event. He participated in a press conference with co-directors Josh and Ben Safdie, and also did a photocall with the brothers before walking the red carpet. As Gossip Cop has reported, Ben Safdie also co-stars with Pattinson in the critically-acclaimed movie.

Hundreds of fans showed up to get a glimpse of the British actor, and he took the time to sign autographs and take selfies with the crowd, which was held back by metal barriers. Pattinson, who put his work on the movie High Life on hold to attend the event, showed up with a new buzz cut. Throughout the Good Time press tour, the movie star had his full head of hair with his signature tousled locks, but now he’s reverted back to the shorn style he sported a few years ago for The Rover.

In addition to the press conference, photocall and formal premiere, Pattinson also met with Deauville mayor Philippe Augier, who dedicated a beach locker to the Twilight star at the Promenade des Planches. Other celebrities who have received the honor include Jessica Chastain, Daniel Radcliffe, James Franco, Salma Hayek and director Michael Bay. Traditionally, a sign bearing the star’s name is covered with an American flag, which is then pulled off for the official unveiling.

As Gossip Cop previously reported, it was announced last week that Pattinson would be honored at the Deauville Festival, along with Darren Aronofsky, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Woody Harrelson and Michelle Rodriguez. As part of the tribute, other Pattinson films like Twilight and Cosmopolis were also being screened, and he received an achievement award from Berenice Bejo. Check out the photo gallery below!
