Rihanna and Hassan Jameel are not moving in together, nor are they house-hunting in Paris. This false rumor started in the tabloids on Wednesday and has already spread online. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk it.
In the wake of Rihanna and Jameel being photographed in Paris earlier this month, Star is claiming to know "what they came for." That's a nod to her song "This Is What You Came For," and there's another punny lyrical reference when the gossip magazine claims that while in the French city, "They put their realtor to work, work, work, work, work, work." It's specifically alleged the couple is "quietly shopping for a chic apartment in the City of Light."
"Rihanna's never been this happy in a relationship before. Living together is a big move but Hassan has truly won Rihanna over," claims a so-called "friend," unnaturally using the singer's first name in back-to-back sentences. Then, in yet another musical reference, the outlet predicts she and Jameel will "run this town." Contends the purported pal, "Paris is the perfect home base... Rihanna can work on her Puma collection, and Hassan will be able to bounce back and forth for business."
The publication concludes, "All that's missing is a California King bed." Yes, that's another allusion to Rihanna's song catalogue. But the tabloid can show its familiarity with her singles all it wants. Its story is still out of tune. Gossip Cop is exclusively told by a source within Rihanna's camp that it's "not true" she and Jameel are looking for an apartment to share in Paris.
And there's a clear sign right in the story that the supposed "friend" doesn't actually know what he or she is talking about. As noted above, this alleged tipster calls Paris "the perfect home base" for Rihanna because she could "work on her Puma collection." But the footwear company isn't headquartered in Paris. Puma is actually based in Herzogenaurach, Germany.
Unsurprisingly, HollywoodLife quickly picked up this ill-informed narrative before investigating whether it was accurate or not. Regurgitating the tabloid's claims, the website editorializes, "We love Rihanna and Hassan Jameel together, so we'd be so excited if the couple decided to take their relationship to the next level in the City of Love." The blog goes on to reference untrue rumors about Rihanna being pregnant, failing to mention that it was one of the online publications that spread such misinformation. Rihanna and Jameel partied after the Grammys and may have love on the brain (yeah, we can come up with cheesy song references, too), but moving in together and having a baby isn't in their foreseeable future.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
