A tabloid claims Rihanna and Eminem have been staying at the same hotel in Los Angeles, but she's doing everything she can to avoid him. There's no truth to the story. Gossip Cop can bust it.
According to OK!, Eminem has been staying at the Hotel Bel-Air "to work on his music," and it just so happens that his "Love The Way You Lie" collaborator is staying at the same establishment. An alleged source tells the magazine, "[Rihanna's] been so busy in London [where she's based] recording her album and running her business that she needed a break. She planned on entertaining in her suite while in town but didn't realize he'd be down the hall."
The supposed insider goes on to say the situation is "awkward" for Rihanna, especially because Eminem "heard she was in the hotel and was eager to reconnect." The suspicious tipster concludes, "She's not showing any interest. She's just hoping they don't run into each other in the hallway."
Gossip Cop ran this scenario by a source close to Rihanna, who found it quite amusing and bizarre. Suffice to say, our insider assures us it's entirely fabricated. The story seems to have been concocted because Rihanna was spotted at the Hotel Bel-Air a couple of weeks ago. Eminem, who lives in his home state of Michigan, hasn't been photographed at the hotel.
The tabloid's report also stems from a rumor last year that Rihanna was angry at the Detroit rapper for using her name in a diss track aimed at Machine Gun Kelly. The song, titled "Killshot," featured the lyric, "Rihanna just hit me on a text/Last night I left hickeys on her neck." While the singer has never spoken publicly about the line, many others spoke out on social media calling the lyric inappropriate and misogynistic.
There have also long been rumors about Rihanna and Eminem having dated, but those rumors are unsubstantiated. The past history between the two stars has resulted in OK! coming up with a fictional narrative about a potentially "awkward" hotel run-in. It's all fiction.
This isn't the first time the outlet has published an inaccurate story about the two musicians. Back in 2014, the tabloid falsely claimed Rihanna and Eminem were in a "no string attached" relationship while on tour together. There was no truth to the hookup rumors. Eminem's own rep called the story "completely, utterly untrue." The same can be said for this latest one.
