Rihanna did not “blow up” backstage during rehearsals and then cancel her live performance at the Grammys because of Beyonce, despite a wholly inaccurate report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this claim. We’re told it’s “not true.”

According to MediaTakeOut, Rihanna didn’t really have any issues with her vocal chords. Her problem, alleges the untrustworthy webloid, was with Beyonce’s presence. The site claims Rihanna exploded during rehearsals when she found out Beyonce would be attending the awards show, and could even supposedly be heard on a videotape “saying ‘F*** Beyonce’ and saying other things like ‘I’ll f*** that b**** up.'” “The beef is real,” adds MediaFakeOut.

Though the webloid promised the tape”is about to come out,” not surprisingly it has not. And the reason is because Rihanna never blew up during rehearsals because of Beyonce, a source who was there exclusively tells Gossip Cop. We’re told by our impeccable insider that the entire claim is “not true.” Furthermore, Gossip Cop has been assured (once again), “There’s no beef” between Rihanna and Beyonce. “They like each other,” says our source, who’s a mutual friend of both singers.

As Gossip Cop previously reported, Rihanna bailed on the Grammys at the last minute because, as her rep confirmed to us, “Her doctor put her on vocal rest for 48 hours.” We were also informed that Rihanna was “at risk of hemorrhaging her vocal chords,” and “the antibiotics she has been on for 3-days did not kill the infection adequately,” which is why the performance was scrapped.

Of course, MTO has a terrible track record when it comes to Rihanna. Gossip Cop busted the webloid when it wrongly claimed she had “posed nude” for Playboy. We also debunked the outlet when it falsely reported that she “assaulted” a BET executive. And Gossip Cop similarly corrected the site when it inaccurately claimed she was “fighting” with Beyonce at the Tidal press conference. None of those stories were accurate, and neither is the latest tale that untruthfully alleges Rihanna blew up when she heard Beyonce was going to be at the Grammys.
