A tabloid claims Reese Witherspoon's husband, Jim Toth, is fed up with her supposedly partying out of control. The story is completely made-up. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
Back in February, the actress was photographed falling down the stairs while leaving Jennifer Aniston's 50th birthday party. According to Woman's Day Australia, the tumble was a direct result of her drinking too much. However, the outlet has no proof that Witherspoon was heavily intoxicated at the time and doesn't bother to mention she was wearing giant high heels, which likely played a role.
The magazine goes on to say that Witherspoon "was partying just as hard" at Kate Hudson's 40th birthday party earlier this month. A supposed source tells the magazine, "When Reese left Jen's party looking worse for wear, everyone was talking about it. It's humiliating for Jim. The last thing he'd have wanted is to deal with that all over again, so it's understandable he'd be fuming."
The unreliable tabloid provides zero details about Witherspoon's supposed antics at Hudson's party, but insists Toth was "furious" when they left. "Reese loves to have a few drinks with her friends, but Jim would rather be at home," adds the questionable tipster. "They're very different in that respect."
The magazine's story is both vague and baseless. Still, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the situation, who wasn't able to speak on the record, but assures us there's no truth to the report. Witherspoon didn't get out of hand at Hudson's birthday celebration, nor does her husband believe she's partying too hard.
In fact, just one day after Hudson's party, Witherspoon paid tribute to Toth on Instagram in honor of Husband Appreciation Day. "Endlessly appreciative of my adorable, supportive husband," the actress wrote. "He sure knows how to keep us smiling!" It's clear the couple's marriage is going strong.
Unfortunately, this wouldn't be the first time Woman's Day has attempted to create nonexistent issues between the couple. A few months ago, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid for falsely claiming Witherspoon and Toth's marriage was in trouble over the actress's busy work schedule.
Shortly before that, we called out the magazine for wrongly reporting that Witherspoon and Toth were having "tension" over the actress's ex-husband, Ryan Phillippe. The outlet keeps coming up with new scenarios to put the actress and her husband at odds, but there's no validity to it. This latest take on the subject is equally bogus.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
