Reese Witherspoon is not jealous of the friendship between her “Big Little Lies” co-stars Nicole Kidman and Meryl Streep, despite a bogus tabloid report. Gossip Cop can debunk the story. The magazine is simply trying to stir up nonexistent drama.

According to In Touch, Witherspoon isn’t happy about her two co-stars forming a close bond on the set of their HBO series. “She feels like the third wheel,” a supposed source tells the magazine. “They’ll go for coffee and lunch together without telling her. Reese is jealous, plain and simple.”

The alleged tipster goes on to say that Witherspoon “always felt like she and Nicole were the face of ‘Big Little Lies,'” but that’s supposedly changed now that Streep has joined the second season. “Now it’s all about Nicole and Meryl,” adds the questionable insider. “Reese isn’t happy about it.”

The tabloid’s premise is flat-out fabricated. Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to Witherspoon, who wasn’t able to speak on the record, but assures us the magazine’s article is absurd. The actress doesn’t feel like the odd one out amongst her co-stars, and she’s doesn’t feel snubbed by Kidman and Streep.

In May, Witherspoon shared an Instagram photo of herself posing with her co-stars on the red carpet at the premiere of the show’s second season. She added the caption, “The power of sisterhood and friendship is limitless! So proud to work with these remarkable ladies. Can’t wait to share Season 2 of @biglittlies with y’all!” The entire cast of the HBO series share a close bond, and the idea it’s been “all about” Kidman and Streep simply isn’t accurate.

Unfortunately, this wouldn’t be the first time that In Touch has attempted to pit the stars of “Big Little Lies” against each other. Last year, Gossip Cop busted the outlet for falsely claiming Witherspoon and Kidman fought backstage at one of Keith Urban’s concerts. The alleged conflict never occurred. The story didn’t make much sense either, considering that Kidman had invited her co-star to her husband’s concert and even joined her on stage to surprise the crowd.

Shortly before that, Gossip Cop called out the magazine for wrongly reporting that Witherspoon was furious with Kidman for landing the movie and TV rights to the upcoming book by the author of “Big Little Lies.” Prior to that, the tabloid made up a phony story about Witherspoon feuding with Streep on the set of the HBO show. These scandalous narratives involving the stars of the hit series simply aren’t true.
