Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern are not feuding, despite a fabricated report that wrongly contends the actresses are “sick of sharing the spotlight.” Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this claim. We’re told it’s “not true.”

“Reese & Laura’s Big Little Feud,” reads a headline of a story in the current edition of Star. In its article, a so-called “source” connected to the second season of “Big Little Lies” is quoted as telling the gossip magazine, “Reese and Laura have always had creative differences; they had disagreements. Now producers are trying to figure out a way to keep the peace, or decide which actress stays.”

The outlet’s alleged “insider” further maintains that Witherspoon and Dern’s costar Nicole Kidman is “stuck in the middle” of their supposed feud. Instead, continues the tabloid’s questionable tipster, Witherspoon is trying to convince close friend Jennifer Aniston to join the cast. “Reese wants someone on her side, not another leading lady who’s going to question her authority as queen bee,” concludes the magazine’s seemingly non-existent “source.”

But Gossip Cop investigated the story, and a source close Witherspoon exclusively tells us on backgrounds that the report is “not true.” Contrary to Star’s tall tale, the “Big Little Lies” stars are not feuding, nor are they “sick of sharing the spotlight.” In fact, a New York Times piece about the two close friends was titled “Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern, Wildly Close.” Equally untrue is the claim about Witherspoon asking Aniston to join the star-studded cast. As widely reported, Witherspoon and Aniston are set to star in their own Apple TV series about a morning show. The entire report is nothing but a big, BIG lie.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time Gossip Cop has busted an outlet for manufacturing a feud between Witherspoon and one of her costars. We recently corrected Star’s sister publication, OK!, for falsely alleging Witherspoon and Kidman were “best frenemies” and only pretended to like each other in front of the cameras. Much like that inaccurate report, this latest one about a supposed feud between Witherspoon and Dern is easily provably wrong.
