Reese Witherspoon chatted about her new movie Home Again live on Thursday’s “GMA.” The actress first appeared alone for a solo interview, and was then joined by some of her co-stars. Check out the video below!

The sit-down marked Witherspoon’s first time on the morning show’s relatively new open-space set with a studio audience, which she likened to having breakfast with friends… aside from all the cameras and lights. In addition to calling the star the “sweetest,” Michael Strahan rattled off her various projects, and asked about ambition in women. “[We need] to take the stigma off the word so that we encourage more little girls to be ambitious because I do think that’s how society is going to change,” she said, going on to reveal her childhood ambition was to be the first female president of the United States.

In Home Again, Witherspoon stars as a mom of two who hooks up with a younger man. “My character is separated. She’s got two little kids. She doesn’t know what she’s going to do with her life. She has to move back home. She feels really untethered,” the actress explained, adding, “It’s really about a woman finding what the next chapter in her life is gonna be.” She agreed with Robin Roberts that the film is “so much more” than a romantic comedy, instead calling it a “modern comedy.”

Before her colleagues came out to join the discussion, Witherspoon also spoke about her new TV series with Jennifer Aniston, which is actually about a morning news show. She joked that she wasn’t getting her inspiration from any of the people present, which prompted a lot of nervous laughter. The anchors also fit in questions about “Big Little Lies” and A Wrinkle In Time. Later on, actors Pico Alexander and Jon Rudnitsky, along with director Hallie Meyers-Shyer, came out to continue discussing Home Again. Check out the full interview below!
