Is Priyanka Chopra really pregnant with Nick Jonas' baby? One of this week's tabloids claims the newlyweds are expecting their first child. Gossip Cop looked into the situation and we can set the record straight.
According to Star, the actress was sporting a "baby bump" at the Michael Kors show during New York City Fashion Week on February 13. A supposed source tells the magazine that she and her husband likely conceived during their honeymoon in the Caribbean, adding, "She and Nick are over the moon - and even a little stunned - at how soon it all happened."
The alleged insider further contends that the 36-year-old actress was prepared to undergo IVF treatments to have a baby, "but obviously things took a more natural course." The questionable tipster adds, "They want at least three or four kids, but they'll feel blessed with one healthy baby girl or boy."
The so-called "insider" goes on to say that Chopra has been preparing for "the little one's arrival" by cutting out caffeine and a number of unhealthy foods from her diet, as well as "signing up for prenatal Pilates to keep her body limber." "Nick has been wonderful, fetching her warm milk or green juice when she needs a pick-me-up," adds the seemingly phony source. "She's telling her family that he's going to be a great dad." Perhaps one day he will be, but fatherhood isn't in the musician's immediate future.
Gossip Cop reached out to Chopra's spokesperson, who tells us on the record that the actress is "not pregnant." Despite what the tabloid's anonymous and untraceable "source" claims, a rep qualified to speak on the actress's behalf confirms she's not currently expecting a child.
Just last week, Chopra revealed that she and Jonas are in no rush to start a family, but they plan on having a child at some point in the future. "We both know that that's something that needs to happen, but it's not something I think about very much," the actress told reporters at the premiere of her new movie Isn't It Romantic. "We're both very driven, we love our work... So I'm sure it will happen in an organic way," she added.
Earlier this month, Gossip Cop called out Star for making up a story about Chopra and Jonas planning to have a baby the same time as his brother Joe and his fiancee Sophie Turner. This latest article makes no mention of the singer's brother having a child as well. In December, the magazine's sister publication, the National Enquirer, wrongly reported that Chopra and Jonas were moving to India. The newlyweds recently purchased a home in Beverly Hills. The gossip media simply has no insight into the couple's marriage.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
