Is Princess Eugenie “frustrated” that she’s not “getting the attention she deserves” for her royal work? That’s the latest claim coming from a website known for its fabricated stories, but Gossip Cop can set the record straight. We’re told it’s “rubbish.”

While Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are “making headlines for their pregnancy and royal wedding plans,” not a single person “seems to be paying any attention to Eugenie” and the “hard work she’s been putting in to help raise money for charities,” Celeb Dirty Laundry claims in its newest report. Without a single source to support its premise, the often discredited site goes on to point out that the 27-year-old daughter of Prince Andrew recently helped raise “more than $600,000 for elephant and rhino charities,” but contends “the media is focusing more” on Prince Harry and Markle’s upcoming wedding and Middleton’s third pregnancy.

The outlet, which routinely gets caught telling tall tales about the royal family, further alleges it’s “frustrating for someone like Eugenie,” who has been “trying so hard to be noticed in recent weeks.” The blog concludes its piece by ridiculously asserting, “For the first time in a long time, she’s taking her royal duties and responsibilities very seriously.” Of course, Queen Elizabeth’s granddaughter has always taken her “royal duties and responsibilities” seriously.

The only remotely factual aspect of the article is that Princess Eugenie helped raise money for an animal charity earlier this month, but she didn’t take part in the gala to receive attention for herself. Still, the contention that no one is “paying any attention” to her charitable contributions is provably false. For example, Princess Eugenie’s attendance at a recent charity boxing match, which served as the highlight of the black-tie fundraiser for the aforementioned “elephant and rhino charities,” was documented online by the Daily Mail, one of the most read British news outlets.

Similarly, Hello! magazine also did a story on how Princess Eugenie helped raise money through the philanthropic event. Both publications, along with the Press Association and other outlets, also covered Princess Eugenie’s visit with teenage cancer patients in September. Clearly, her work is not going unnoticed. At the same time, Princess Eugenie understands that her cousins have a lot going on at the moment, particularly with the engagement and pregnancy.

Middleton is birthing another heir to the throne while Markle’s wedding to Prince Harry is considered groundbreaking for a number of reasons, including the fact that she is American and biracial. Of course, the media coverage leading up to these milestones is going to be extensive. That doesn’t mean, however, that there’s a competition among the royal women. Princess Eugenie has always lived relatively under-the-radar compared to Prince William and Prince Harry, and that certainly isn’t “frustrating” for her.

Regardless, Gossip Cop still investigated the seemingly made-up report, and a royal source tells us on background the story is “rubbish.” It should be noted, Gossip Cop previously corrected the untrustworthy website when it falsely alleged Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie ignored Prince Harry and Markle’s engagement announcement. Much like that untrue claim, this latest one about Princess Eugenie feeling “frustrated” over a “lack of attention” in the media is equally phony.
