Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice are not "ignoring" the announcement of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's engagement, despite a bogus report. Gossip Cop can help set the record straight. We're told the claim is "nonsense."
According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, which is often caught telling tall tales about the royal family, both Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie "have said absolutely nothing" about Prince Harry's engagement to Markle because they're concerned the actress will "push them out of the royal spotlight." Without a single source to support its premise, the often discredited website contends that the newly-engaged Markle is a "huge fresh breath of air for the royal family," which is supposedly "very troubling" for 29-year-old Princess Beatrice and 27-year-old Princess Eugenie.
The outlet goes on to ridiculously assert that with Markle "in the picture," there's a "good chance that royal fans might forget about Beatrice and Eugenie altogether." "With all eyes on Harry and Meghan," concludes the website, "they are going to have a hard time reminding the public that they even exist. Time will only tell if they will warm up to Meghan or if they will be keeping their distance from her out of pure jealousy."
The entire article, however, is nothing more than a fabrication. And it was manufactured by the same website that previously falsely claimed Kate Middleton and Camilla Parker Bowles were "coming between" Prince Harry and Markle. Of course, if CDL had done its research before posting this untrue report, it would have realized that only a handful of key royals issued statements about Prince Harry and Markle's engagement. Even Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie's own father, Prince Andrew, didn't publicly comment on it.
Frankly, the beginning and end of this is that the only royal reactions to the engagement came from Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, and Prince William and Kate Middleton. Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie aren't "ignoring" the big royal news, as claimed by the website. They simply live relatively under-the-radar compared to their cousins. Additionally, the "Suits" actress has been in the spotlight for a long time, and that certainly isn't "frustrating" for the sisters. Still, Gossip Cop fact-checks everything and a Buckingham Palace source dismissed CDL's story as utter "nonsense."
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
