Prince William and Queen Elizabeth are not "fighting" over Kate Middleton's "request to step back" from her royal duties, despite a bogus report. Gossip Cop can set the record straight. We're told it's "not true."
The allegation can be found in the latest issue of Life & Style, which suspiciously asserts in its newest royal tale that the Duchess of Cambridge, who is pregnant with her third child, wants to make her "scaled-back schedule a permanent thing." A so-called "royal insider" is then quoted as saying, "Kate's miserable about doing royal engagements. She's happiest being a mother and wife and has requested to do less in the public eye." But according to the gossip magazine, her request has "infuriated" Queen Elizabeth, and it led to a "major fight" with her grandson Prince William.
The publication's dubious "source" goes on to claim, "The 91-year-old monarch was livid that the future Queen of England would want to lessen her duties," but it didn't stop Prince William from "standing up" to his grandmother. Adds the outlet's alleged tipster, "He told her Kate wants her public appearances kept to a minimum and he's 100 percent behind her. The conversation was quite icy." The tabloid's questionable "insider" further purports that a "frustrated" Queen Elizabeth has a "no-nonsense" attitude "when it comes to her royal duties and those of her family," and she "expects Kate to step up."
But Gossip Cop investigated into the report, and it comes as no surprise that the article is nothing more than a fabrication. Remember, we corrected the often disproven Life & Style in 2016 for falsely alleging Middleton was in the center of a "royal family war." And more recently, we called out the magazine for wrongly claiming in an absurd story that Prince William and Middleton had been named King and Queen of England. Evidently, the publication isn't the most reliable source for real royal news.
Of course, this latest story is similarly bogus. A royal source close to the situation assures Gossip Cop the report is "not true," as Prince William and Queen Elizabeth did not have a "major fight" over Middleton's royal duties. While it's true the Duchess of Cambridge took some well-deserved time off after being struck down with severe morning sickness, she is gradually returning to the spotlight with a number of public appearances. In fact, Middleton joined Prince William and Prince Harry at the Coach Core graduation in London on Wednesday, which celebrates the next generation of sports coaches. Clearly, the outlet's report is entirely false.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
