Prince Jackson spoke about his late father Michael Jackson in a rare TV interview on Monday’s “GMA.” Watch below.

Sitting for a one-on-one chat with Robin Roberts, Prince acknowledged that he usually prefers to stay out of the spotlight. “I’m not a fan of having my personal or private life out there, but I understand the importance of showing what I do and hopefully trying to inspire others to kind of continue spreading the good and helping the community,” he said.

That’s why he came on the morning show to discuss Heal LA, a charity organization he co-founded. “It is inspired from ‘Heal the World.’ We primarily focus on child abuse, homelessness and hunger in [the] Los Angeles area,” Prince shared, going on to note, “People don’t understand how the little things can add up and make a big difference in someone’s life.”

Prince was also asked about the name of his company, King’s Son Productions. He told Roberts, “It’s obvious, because my father was the king of pop. King’s Son Productions has this mantra where a title is earned but a name is given. So I was born Prince. That was the name my dad had given to me. But my dad earned the [title] ‘king of pop,’ and that’s through hard work and years of training and everything he worked so hard to get.”

He went on, “It’s a form of motivation, because my name is Prince, but for all intents and purposes, I am the king’s son, working to get my own [title].” Prince further shared of his father’s fame, “Even after we realized he was the king of pop — even to this day, I don’t think it holds the same weight to us that it does to other people, because he was our father, our dad or daddy, whatever you want to call it.”

“What blew my mind was when I saw these big muscle dudes fainting [around him] and having to be dragged out,” he revealed. Roberts also wondered what the late star would think of his children’s chosen paths. Prince responded, “As we were growing up, my dad always said, ‘I don’t really care what you do in life as long as you’re happy doing it and you’re the best at what you do. If you want to be a janitor at a high school, you should be the best janitor you can be.'” Check out the full interview below. NOTE: The video is no longer available.
