A new report alleges Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have Queen Elizabeth's full "support," and while that's accurate, the story itself is a fabrication. Gossip Cop can explain what's going on in this made-up claim.

As speculation continues to swirl around Prince Harry and Markle's engagement, the serial fabricators at HollywoodLife have manufactured yet another tale about the couple. According to the website, which is regularly caught posting fake news stories about the royal family, Prince Harry and Markle are "getting hitched no matter what," and the Queen is fully "backing the couple."

A so-called "source" tells the outlet, "There's no drama within the immediate royal family when it comes to Meghan being an actress, but there are people on the outside who definitely disapprove." The website's seemingly phony "insider" goes on to state, "The Queen, and Prince Charles, are actually much more modern thinking than many give them credit for. They think Meghan is a great match for Harry, and that she will be a really good addition to the family."

Let Gossip Cop set the record straight on this manufactured report. Predictably, the aptly nicknamed HollywoodLies cobbled together this alleged "exclusive" after numerous outlets reported that the "Suits" actress had met the Queen earlier this month. As expected, the site took the original story and added its own fabricated angle, claiming to know how Queen Elizabeth feels about Prince Harry and Markle's relationship.

Of course, as Gossip Cop has proven in the past, the blog seemingly has no reliable royal sources. For example, we corrected the website in September when it falsely alleged Prince Harry was confident Queen Elizabeth would be "enchanted" by Markle when they meet. As we pointed out in that made-up report, a legitimate palace insider would never share any details about the royal family with an untrustworthy U.S. gossip site, particularly HollywoodLife.

As noted above, while it's true that the Queen obviously supports her grandson in his relationship, HollywoodLies has no inside path to the Queen and is simply taking an existing news story and pretending to have additional and "exclusive" information. Perhaps one day that website will publish a story that it can "support" with verifiable facts.

Our Verdict
