Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s parents are not feuding, despite a new report. Gossip Cop can correct this claim, which falsely alleges Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles are “at war” with the former actress’s mom and dad, Thomas Markle and Doria Radlan. We’re told it’s “false.”
According to the Australian tabloid, New Idea, Prince Charles and Parker-Bowles are “locked in a bitter war with Meghan’s father Thomas and mum Doria” over a purported “TV wedding deal.” In the piece, the outlet contends that Thomas and Markle’s half-sister Samantha, who the actress isn’t in contact with, have signed a “lucrative agreement to be filmed traveling from the US to London for the [royal] wedding via a cruise” as part of a “tacky endorsement deal that has senior royals seeing red.”
A so-called “source” is then quoted as telling the magazine, “To say that Prince Charles is appalled by Meghan’s family using the wedding and the royal family as a way to make money off a tacky TV special is an understatement. This is exactly the type of exploitation that Charles and his mother hate.” The tabloid’s dubious “royal insider” goes on to allege, “It’s caused all sorts of tension. Charles spoke to Tom directly and said that he was already bringing shame and embarrassment to his daughter, it wasn’t a pleasant conversation.”
As for Doria, she’s supposedly infuriated by the Duchess of Cornwall’s “appalling treatment of the bride-to-be.” The publication’s questionable “source” further states, “Doria is outraged and has told Meghan that she’s not going to let anyone push her or their family around, especially Camilla.” But Gossip Cop investigated the seemingly fabricated story, and a palace insider tells us the report is completely “false.”
Contrary to New Idea‘s baseless article, there’s no such “feud” unfolding between Prince Harry and Markle’s parents over a TV deal (which hasn’t been reported on by a reputable British outlet), nor is Doria “outraged” with Parker-Bowles’ alleged poor treatment of the former “Suits” actress. Additionally, the assertion about Markle’s father traveling from his home in the States to the UK via a cruise is rather off-base, as Thomas doesn’t even live in the US. Instead, Thomas resides in Mexico. The entire story is just the magazine’s weak attempt at stirring up a feud between the future in-laws.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Gossip Cop has called out the unreliable tabloid for publishing a bogus report about the couple. We corrected New Idea in November for falsely announcing on its cover that Prince Harry and Markle were having a baby. Much like that inaccurate claim, this latest one about the couple’s parents being at “war” over a royal wedding TV deal is equally absurd.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
