Did Prince Harry and Meghan Markle really buy a beach house in Malibu? That’s the latest claim coming from one particularly unreliable outlet, but Gossip Cop can expose the truth. We’re told it’s “false.”

The report can be found in this week’s issue of New Idea, which alleges the couple is “splashing out on a lavish beach house in star-studded Malibu.” A so-called “source” is quoted as telling the publication, “The pair have fallen in love with this stunning Italian-style property with dramatic views of the Pacific Ocean.” The tabloid further claims the house boasts “eight bedrooms and eight bathrooms, a large swimming pool, hot tub, waterfalls and koi ponds,” with its alleged “insider” adding, “There’s tons of space for entertaining.”

The outlet’s questionable “source” goes on to assert, “It’s everything Harry and Meghan could want, and it’s perfect for when they have kids.” Well, maybe not perfect yet. The tabloid maintains the couple is going to spend “$1 million refurbishing the house to their own tastes.” According to the publication, Prince Harry and the former “Suits” actress “toyed with the idea of getting a house in Beverly Hills,” splitting their “time between London and Los Angeles,” but they thought it would be “much more fun to have a place by the beach.”

And if that weren’t enough, New Idea’s dubious tipster contends, “[Prince Harry] is mesmerized by the thought of living right next to the sea and somewhere so glamorous and exciting,” which Markle supposedly finds “funny.” “She’s the exact opposite. She is used to the Malibu lifestyle, has to pinch herself that she now gets to live in a palace and is getting married in a castle,” adds the magazine’s almost assuredly fake “source.”

So, when did they buy this Malibu beach house? The magazine doesn’t say. How is it that no other publication, particularly those devoted to real estate in Southern California, made no mention whatsoever of the purported purchase? Simply, the entire story is a fabrication.

Gossip Cop investigated the story, and we’re told by a royal staffer on condition of anonymity that the report is completely “false.” We’re assured, Prince Harry and his bride-to-be didn’t buy a beach house in Malibu. We’re not remotely surprise, however, since the article was published by the same outlet that untruthfully claimed Prince Harry and Marble secretly married in September 2017 in Scotland. And it also ran a wrong cover story a month ago that stated Prince Harry and Marble were “having a baby already.”

In reality (or realty news), Prince Harry and Markle are currently living in Nottingham Cottage, a cozy two-bedroom property on the grounds of Kensington Palace that was previously occupied by Prince William and Kate Middleton. And the soon-to-be newlyweds will continue to live in the cottage after they tie the knot in May. They will not be “splitting their time” between the UK and America.
