Are Prince Harry and Meghan Markle really caught in a "love child scandal"? That's the claim being made in a new tabloid report, but Gossip Cop can bust this bogus story. Actually, the article is based on a previous tale about Prince Harry fathering a little boy that was already debunked.

According to NW, Prince Harry has an equally redheaded "love child," and now Markle is "demanding answers." After having enjoyed a two-week tour in the Pacific and looking like "the picture of wedded bliss," the magazine maintains their marriage has been "shaken to the core" by a claim that Prince Harry "fathered a secret love child." The outlet's primary source of information is none other than the supermarket tabloid, the Globe, which earlier this year alleged the Duke of Sussex may have "impregnated a mystery woman during a night of passion in 2013."

It appears this disproven claim is being dredged up now because Prince Harry is expecting a baby with his wife. NW alleges a "palace insider" reveals, "These rumors have been circulating within the royal family," adding, "There is some confusion and yes, alarm because if it were to be the case then an incredibly appalling scandal is in the making." Of course, if it were really "the case," there wouldn't be any "rumors" or confusion"; the royal family would know something like that for sure.

But, as noted, it's all coming from an old Globe story that asserted a woman left a note and a photo of a redheaded boy, along with a lawyer's letter at Kensington Palace, insisting the child was "conceived during a one-night stand five years ago." Naturally, no details about where or when the encounter supposedly took place are mentioned. Nor is there a single word about how this unnamed and untraceable woman allegedly met Prince Harry. And yet, the magazine somehow knows for certain that if the royal ponied up $7,000 a month in child support, she would "never expose" him as the dad.

It's true, when he was younger Prince Harry was a more of a wild child, often pictured in less flattering ways. But he hasn't been like that in many years. Regardless, NW is using the phony narrative of her husband possibly having a secret "love child" to add a new and equally untrue angle. It's so-called "insider" is quoted as saying, "Now that Meghan's pregnant, nobody would blame her for wanting answers and clearing this thing up once and for all before their baby is born." Of course, if it were remotely true, it would have been cleared up well before she and Prince Harry wed.

As stated above, the premise of the royal having an illegitimate child was first floated several months ago when the Globe contended Prince Harry's "love child" was going to wreck his marriage to Markle. Well, the two tied the knot before billions of people in May, so clearly nothing was wrecked. Simply, the idea of Prince Harry having a secret son was untrue then, and it remains false to this day. It also bears mentioning that no legitimate British papers have written about this alleged heir. Still, Gossip Cop checked with Kensington Palace about the latest report, and it was met with laughter.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
