Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are not leaving the royal family, despite a new magazine cover story. Gossip Cop can correct this long-rumored and inaccurate narrative. The two remain committed to their official duties and are not moving to Africa.

According to Life & Style, Markle issued her husband an “ultimatum” that it’s either “me or your family.” After contending that she can no longer cope with the stress of being a duchess, the publication claims the former actress came up with a “solution,” which was convincing Prince Harry to “leave the royal family.” A so-called “source” is quoted as telling the outlet how Markle “can’t face being stuck in the U.K. for much longer” and “wants to move to southern Africa.”

The anonymous insider adds how she’s warned Prince Harry that “if they don’t relocate, she wants out.” “It’s her or his family at this point, and Harry’s chosen his wife,” continues the supposed source. The outlet says it didn’t take a lot of arm-twisting since the redheaded prince has always loved and felt comfortable in Africa.

The purported tipster further alleges that while the sixth in line to the throne is used to life as a royal, Markle has “grown tired” of having to “follow all these different protocols, many of which she finds old-fashioned and stuffy.” “It’s a hassle she can stand to do without,” shares the tabloid’s source. As a result, maintains the insider, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have decided they’re going to make their official royal tour to Africa in the fall “a longer stay than anyone imagined.”

“Meghan and Harry have agreed to spend at least half of the year in southern Africa,” asserts the source. The insider explains that “living in the middle of nowhere,” surrounded by nature and away from the royal family, “would be a dream come true.” The magazine even insists they’ve chosen to live in “a $10 million farmhouse with breathtaking views of mountains on a property sprawled over 200 acres” that comes complete with “stables, a private theater, a gym, a spa and two pools — indoor and outdoor.”

It’s worth noting that while the publication claims to know all about the home the Sussexes will supposedly be moving into, it never states where in southern Africa the house actually is. Is it in Malawi, South Africa, Angola, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Lesotho or Mozambique? The reason it’s not mentioned where is simply because the entire report is nothing more than a fabrication.

As pointed out above, the premise about the newlyweds wanting to ditch their official responsibilities is not new nor accurate. For example, in 2017 Gossip Cop debunked the tabloid’s sister publication Star when it printed a bogus report about how Prince Harry and Markle were quitting royal life and moving to America. We again shot down that storyline in 2018 after the magazine ran another phony front page article that swore up and down how Markle and Prince Harry were leaving the royal family for their baby and relocating to the United States. It was incorrect then, and it’s still wrong.

Far from wanting out of the family and moving to Africa, the couple just refurbished their home on the grounds of Windsor Castle. Additionally, the duke has been performing one royal function after another. On Wednesday, for instance, Prince Harry participated in the King Power Royal Charity Polo Day, which benefitted a number of organizations he and Prince William support, including the Invictus Games and the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust. And on Thursday, Prince Harry met with Youth Ministers from across the Commonwealth to discuss a variety of issues that are important to and affect young people.

More importantly, last month when announcing Prince Harry and Markle’s upcoming official tour of South Africa, Angola, and Malawi, British High Commissioner to South Africa Nigel Casey stressed this royal trip will be “much shorter visit” than their past stay. He added that they would only be there “for a matter of days and not months.” That fully contradicts the tabloid’s unnamed, untraceable, and unreliable “source.”

Life & Style has a poor track record with its cover stories about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. In June 2018, Gossip Cop busted the magazine when it absurdly declared on its front page that Markle was pregnant with Prince Harry’s twins, a boy and a girl. Three months later, we shot down another manufactured tale about Markle being pregnant with Prince Harry’s twin girls. And a little more than three months after that we also exposed the same outlet when it falsely exclaimed Markle was pregnant with twin boys.

Of course, Markle did not have any of those combinations of twins. She gave birth to one child, a boy they named Archie. Significantly, it all underscores how, despite alleging its information comes from insiders, the tabloid’s Prince Harry and Markle sources are either untrustworthy or made-up. Regardless, much like those previous articles, the latest cover story about Prince Harry and Markle leaving the royal family and moving to Africa is also untrue.
