The tabloids have published a lot of false stories about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s first baby. Many of these bogus articles have focused on how the couple plans to raise their child. Here are a few of the reports that Gossip Cop has busted since the palace announced that the Duchess of Sussex was pregnant late last year.

The incorrect stories started before the baby, named Archie, was born in May of 2019. Not even a month after Markle announced her pregnancy in October 2018, OK! splashed a dramatic headline claiming Prince Harry and Markle were “leaving royal family for their baby.” The false report quoted an unidentified “source” as saying now that “Harry and Meghan will be making a historic announcement… They’re leaving their royal life behind.” Gossip Cop set the record straight at the time, and the couple is still happily living in England, and still very much members of the Royal Family. In fact, Markle is in the middle of the lengthy process of become a British citizen.

A couple of months later, OK! was still making up stories about the couple and their soon-to-be-born child when it splashed another headline on its cover about the Prince Harry and Markle having their baby in America. The tabloid falsely claimed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would “welcome their first child together this spring in America.” The outlet then quoted a “source” close to the couple as saying the royals “found an oceanside home to stay in during their time in California.” None of that was true, of course, as Gossip Cop pointed out at the time. Baby Archie was born at Portland Hospital in London.

One of the more surprising incorrect stories on this subject came from the normally reliable Vanity Fair, which published a story in March saying Prince Harry and Markle were planning on raising the baby as “gender fluid.” Gossip Cop was suspicious of the story immediately, and our instincts proved right when the palace flatly denied the story. It seems in this case, Vanity Fair took the bait from a bad source. Gossip Cop did not.

In June, a month after Archie was born, the National Enquirer came up with yet another fake story about Prince Harry and Markle raising their baby in America. And just like Gossip Cop debunked the false narrative when OK! peddled it, we did so again in June.

Oh and yes, Prince Harry is in fact the real father of Archie ,despite a despicable and completely false story that was printed in the Globe in May. If the tabloids are going to make such bold statements about the couple, they need to find real sources and stop making up stories to sell papers.
